7/14/08 - I want to personally thank you for the great response to the new redesigned version of AppDelete and announce that AppDelete Version 2.0.1 is now available for download! This update addresses a few minor issues in the updating process (mostly Panther users)...implements scrollable file names in the preview window to avoid truncating...fixes a minor bug in the Force Empty Trash feature...along with other minor fixes and improvements. It is a recommended update for all users and those that have sent a payment already should use the automatic update feature from within AppDelete itself. 6/30/08 - I would like to clear up a limited amount of confusion regarding a few sites out there advertising AppDelete as free, and that AppDelete now asks for a donation. Since the old version did not require a donation there are some places on the web that still carry this label. I am doing my best to fix any of these sites and unfortunately some of them might be out of my control. I do apologize for this and I believe most of it is just the transition to Version 2.0. Also I do pay close attention to any feedback I receive so any necessary changes can be made in future updates. 6/27/08 - Just wanted to post an update to say that I'm very thankful and excited and happy to see the great reception to AppDelete Version 2.0! To give you an idea of what's in store for the future right now I am working on a 2.0.1 update to streamline any minor issues. In the near future look for a 2.1 update that will be the first version to include different languages! If any of you are interested in helping with language translation please do email me for further information! 6/11/08 - Everything is going well with the new release of AppDelete Version 2.0!!! I have been receiving good comments and I do appreciate all the feedback! I just would like to report a minor bug where if someone donated they still received the "Donation" window in their AppDelete. This has only affected a few people and if anyone experiences this please email me right away and I will assist you in fixing it. AppDelete Version 2.0 is finally ready!!! AppDelete has been more successful than I ever imagined with almost 500,000 downloads, and with Version 2.0 I hope to continue that success with a BRAND NEW REDESIGNED version that has too many new features and improvements to list here in this update! 4/23/08 - AppDelete Version 2.0 is almost ready!!! Right now it's in Beta stage and if anyone is interested in pre-release testing please contact me and you can let me know what you think! 1/11/08 - Happy New Year to everyone! Just wanted to post an update saying that AppDelete is Leopard compatible! The current Version 1.1.1 will run on Panther and Tiger and Leopard. As for the latest in development news I'm currently working on a redesigned Version 2.0 which I hope to release in the near future. And once again thank you for using AppDelete!
8/27/07 - Well I've been a bit quiet recently but after passing 150,000 downloads and on the way to 200,000 AppDelete Version 1.1.1 is being released! This latest update primarily addresses improved handling of enclosing folders and also now removes Growl tickets along with other minor improvements. All users should update to this latest version and the auto-update feature will handle this for you. Again thank you for using AppDelete and I do appreciate all the great feedback that I receive. 5/1/07 - AppDelete Version 1.1 is finally ready!!! I apologize for the delay as I wanted to have it ready sooner. There are a number of new features and all-around improved performance. 4/20/07 - There has been a report or two of inaccurate results using AppDelete on apps that have only one letter in their name. I just want to let everyone know that I'm looking into this and you can expect a fix to this in Version 1.1 which will be released very soon. If anyone needs further information please don't hesitate to contact me. I apologize for any problem this might have caused. Thank you.
3/27/07 - AppDelete Version 1.1 is in final testing right now and if there are any users that would like to do some pre-release testing please feel free to email me through the Contact Me link above on this site. It's always nice to get feedback from different people with different setups around the world. So hope to hear from a few of you before the official release...Thanks! :-)
3/19/07 - There have been a few reports of issues on Jaguar when trying to install or run AppDelete. At this time I'm looking into what I can do about this. I've always wanted AppDelete to run on as many OS versions as possible. Unfortunately the differences between OS versions are significant and Leopard is due to come out any time now. The next version of AppDelete which will also come out any time now will either resolve these Jaguar issues or will become a Panther and up version. If at all possible I hope to resolve them and thank you for your patience. In the meantime there are no known issues like this on Panther or Tiger, so I hope that you would be able to try AppDelete on one of these OS versions. Thank you and I apologize for the problem.
1/29/07 - Well this is my first post of the New Year and I would like to report that AppDelete has passed 50,000 downloads!!! I am also currently working on the next version of AppDelete so please keep an eye out for its release in the near future. There will be some new features that I think you will like! I would also like to say thanks for all the encouraging emails and comments that have been given to me...I really appreciate them all. And again Thank You for using AppDelete!
12/6/06 - AppDelete Version 1.0.2 is ready!!! It's taken a little longer than I wanted to release it and I apologize for that. There are not really any new "features" in this version, but look for more features in future versions. Here is what is addressed in this update:
• Repaired potential issues with FileVault users
• Improved searching to prohibit deleting apps with similar names
• Fixed error window bug during Undo on pre-Tiger OS versions
• Other minor fixes and internal improvements
If you have any more specific questions about this new update please don't hesitate to email me. I would be happy to answer any questions you have. 12/6/06 - AppDelete has passed 25,000 downloads!!! I'm excited at the response to AppDelete...I must say it has exceeded my expectations at this early stage after being released! And it encourages me to work hard at developing it and future projects. I just want to say "Thanks" to all of you who are using AppDelete and have emailed me and helped me in my development with your feedback. And thanks to those who maybe are not using it but tried it out. So basically I just want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone!!!
10/30/06 - As I pay close attention to any feedback I receive I see that using an encrypted Home folder with FileVault is keeping AppDelete from finding everything that it should. As I write this I'm working on an update that will allow FileVault users to get the same results as non-FileVault users. Please watch out for an update shortly. Anyone not using FileVault is not affected. Thank you again for the feedback that has brought this to my attention! I apologize for any inconvenience.
10/29/06 - There have been a few reports of errors during the installation of AppDelete. This only affected those that were installing on a non-admin account. As of this date the package has been modified and you will no longer receive this error on a non-admin account. There has been no change to AppDelete itself. I recommend anyone who had this problem to re-download and the install will proceed normally. Thank you and I apologize for this issue! Note: installs on admin accounts were never affected by this.
10/27/06 - AppDelete Version 1.0.1 has been released! Because of the great feedback I've been receiving I was able to address a few issues immediately that were brought to my attention after the initial release. Here is a summary of those issues:
• Log error with renamed hard drive
• Not launching properly for non-English OS X users
• Preferences error bug for pre-Tiger users
• Network file permissions error when logging for non-admin users
All users are recommended to update to the latest version, even if you did not experience any of these issues. I apologize for this and once again I thank you for the feedback that brought this to my attention! And thank you for the great initial response to AppDelete!
